Triker Cub Plans

I plan to build a Trike, and I like the look and simplicity of the Triker Cub advertised on Trikeplans.com. I would like to hear opinions from those that have built and/or flown a Triker Cub. I have requested information by email (plans@trikeplans.com) but have had no response.

Heading for Medjumbe

Flew around a bit today to do a bit of filming and fire off a few stills, excited about tomorrow morning, we are heading north towards Medjumbe Island...

Floating the bue

We rolled out from under our mosqutito nets at sunrise this morning to catch the early morning tide and kayaked across to Africas largest mangrove forest. Learned a whole bunch about how the pioneer Mangrove tree is the worlds only tree that can survive in salt water then headed about 10 kilometers from the Island into a channel through the mangroves that was cut by the slaves here in the sixteenth century and is still in use by the dows today. After lunch took a stroll to the local fort, built in the same shape as the Cape Town Castle with a more notorius history of slavery and housing the Portugese until the 1970s. But instead of negative energy in the fort I was suprised to see it being nicely renovated and home to many silver smiths producing the most stunning silver jewelery out of melting down old Arab and portuguese coins ... As the Free to Adventure Team enjoy burning the most out of each day we got to go back a couple of hundred years and sail with one of the local working dows and it did a good job of slowing us down to the speed of local life where there is not to much of a hurry to go anywhere to fast ....all was going well until Tjeerd ran the dow aground after sunset which resulted in us having a unexpected sunset swim in between attempting to push if off and we got to feel like the Arab traders did arriving back at Ibo well after sunset ...

Fun in the sun

Had some good food and a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed at Ibo Island lodge, but for May its still sweltering, we have definately arrived in the tropics and slept with a wet towel on me to try and cool down. Woke to perfect weather and headed out to a small tidal sand island for the day, was really great, totally unspoilt, dived on a nearby ship wreck and swam in the warm blue sea...our hosts set up a gazebo on the island and served fresh fish off the grill... After a power nap we headed into the town to what was once a thriving beautiful well architected town. Most of the buildings are crumbling into the ground but there are signs everywhere of a recovery as many are now being restored by foreign agencies and foreign individuals who have seen the potential of owning a property in this amazing location. There is a lot of history on the island that dates back to Arab traders who built many forts on the islands that were subseqs uently taken over by the Portuguese who colonised Mozambique and shipped many thousands of slaves from here to Brazil. We will be here for the next few days and will be exploring further.
