Cushing "Trikefest" 2008

Trikefest 2008 will be held at Cushing Field (0C8) on Illinois Rt. 71, 1.5 miles SW of the town of Newark, IL. about 60 SW of Chicago on Fri, Sat, & Sun July 25, 26 & 27 - 2008
Friday is the arrival and orientation day with Factory Demo Flights given during the day. Friday evening is for having a couple of beers and getting everybody acquainted.

Saturday morning starts with a Fly-out Breakfast to Prairie lakes, BBQ Cook-out/Picnic for Lunch/Dinner, Afternoon Competition, and an Evening Party with Outdoor Trike Movies and a couple more beers.

Sunday begins with another Fly-out Breakfast to Prairie Lakes, and then the Trike Race to Oshkosh.



CAMPING & LODGING

Camping is allowed most anywhere on Cushing Field Airport property. There are a number of washrooms/toilets at the airport, but no showers.

Hotels and Motels are available within a 5-15 mile radius in Yorkville and Ottawa, IL.

Food & Fuel

There is a 93 Octane auto grade fuel (no alcohol) available at Cushing by using a credit card.

There is a BP Amoco 1.5 miles NE in Newark, which also has a Subway sandwich shop.

There is also The Country Kitchen restaurant next to the BP.


Hangaring and Tie-Downs


There is some hangar space available for visitors on a first come -first serve basis. There is also plenty of tie-down anchors available in the grass for securing your trike. If you want to tie-down and camp on a remote part of the airport, it would be best to bring your own ground-stakes and rope.
